I was looking for an inexpensive dance pad, and this worked well for the price. It has a plastic top, not too slippery on the feet - a little bit of texture to it which works.

It doesn't sit completely flat on the ground if you don't stick it down with something (perhaps some doubled-over duct tape) - keep this in mind if you buy it. It can also slip around underneath you if you don't stick it down. I haven't tried it on carpet, so I can comment about how it does on that surface.

It also has a very strong plastic smell to it if you are sensative to new plastic smell as I am - it takes awhile to air it out, up to several weeks of sitting out - to take that smell away if it bothers you.

For the price, it is worth it, nice and large, though smaller than the arcade versions.
